The room (like most of the house) was a harvest yellow. The photos below portray it as a butter yellow, but do not be fooled. It, combined with the woodwork color, looked like an airport smoking lounge by day and a cave by night.
We lightened up the room with Glidden's Silver Birch. While we prefer Behr paints, we could not find a color close enough to the Silver Birch and Home Depot could not paint match it. This paint is a silvery-blue gray and we love it!
We chose a carpet that has a tint of gray in it also (because we are in love with shades of gray these days). We plan to add this headboard to the room, along with a dresser, chunky mirror and our newly re-matted Powers sign in charcoal. The Powers sign will be hung between the windows, above the headboard.
We are going for a variety of textures, mirror and shapes - from the nightstands to the wall decor to the lamps to the various fur items.
So there you have it, 1/2 of the master bedroom renovation. We'll show you the other side soon...
