Wedding Quilt

Quilts - who doesn't love them? They are just the right heaviness and warmth in the winter, and the right coolness in the summer. Usually, they are made with love and passed down through generations. Each quilt has a story and a life of memories of its own.

For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a quilt, specifically a wedding quilt. One that I can keep for years, one that will keep my family warm during the flu season, one that will comfort them after a hard day, one that I can pass on to my children.

Mary and Jerry, our dear friend Becky's parents, made us a wonderful quilt for wedding present. We love it! It is shades of red and brown with a little green here and there. It is absolutely beautiful! I think we laid under it for months after getting it. It is unique, personalized and one of the best wedding gifts we received!

What do you write on a thank you card for such a magnificent gift? Besides thank you a hundred times, you make a scrapbook! Okay, well maybe most people don't, but we wanted a special way to say thank you.

We gave our quilt a personality of its own and photographed a day in the life of Quilt. He hangs out with his best friend Jean (a gorgeous jean lap-quilt we received too), he cuddles with Tuxedo (Tux loves the quilt), he has a tattoo (Mary's initials), etc. They loved their special book and we loved making it for them! Thank you so much Mary and Jerry!! It's the gift that truly does last a lifetime!
