Yeah, we're there.

The recent State Farm commercials have me thinking about Travis and I and our current position in life… (based on the “Yeah, I’m there” commercials). Here’s ours..

You know that part of your life where you have joined futures, incomes, families and surroundings? Where stuff is no longer mine, nor his – but ours?

Yeah, we’re there.

That point where people have shifted from the questions of marriage to the questions of children in our future. Where we are no longer thinking of ourselves and the current day, but of the future and what it may hold.

Where you are pushed to choose a house based on its availability for a growing family, rather than the coolness of a neighborhood. Where you have to think about things like heaters, roofs and plumbing and appliances - rather than shoes, purses and video games.

Yeah, we’re there.

You know that part of your life where you no longer want to rent a house, but you want to buy a home? Where you want to “be still” in life and sit on your very own porch with a cup of coffee and inhale the scenery. Then, let it slowly fill you with happiness…

Yeah, we’re there.

Where you yearn for something that is truly “ours” – something you have purchased together, something new, rather than a usual garage/estate sale find. Something to call your own – as a married couple.

You know that part of your life when people ask you how married life is different? Where there are no longer questions of your future companion, where you catch each other staring at the other with that small smile and eyes gleaming – thinking, “I married him/her”, where you sit in silence and are perfectly content…

Yeah, we’re there.

It's nice to be here.
